Catalogue Note
This painting has been dated by Oreste Ferrari and Giuseppe Scavizzi to circa 1660 when Giordano was working in Naples experimenting continuously with a variety of styles, and bringing new light and color to Neapolitan painting.  He was influenced by artists such as Pietro da Corona, Peter Paul Rubens and Nicolas Poussin.
